It’s almost become cliché to say that the best sunscreens are made elsewhere — we’ve even written in defense of American-made SPF after chatter online about our relatively short list of approved UV filters reached fever pitch. But now things have changed. For the first time in 27 years, the FDA has approved a new sunscreen filter: bemotrizinol, a filter that’s been popular in European, Australian, and Asian sunscreens for a while. This is big news for those of us who smuggle sunscreens from European pharmacies and have an intimate relationship with YesStyle and Stylevana.
