The Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) has demonstrated a robust performance in the fiscal year 2025-26, registering exports worth ₹2,42,486.82 crore, a growth of 6% over the previous year.Mr. Srinivas Muppaala, Zonal Development Commissioner, VSEZ, stated that the export figures were achieved despite global economic headwinds, including U.S. tariff issues and the conflict in Iran. The total export value comprised ₹1,81,868.83 crore in service exports and ₹60,617.99 crore in merchandise exports.Specifically, the Duvvada SEZ contributed ₹4,935.39 crore to the total exports, consisting of ₹4,916.99 crore in merchandise and ₹18.40 crore in services. As of March 31, 2026, the VSEZ has cumulatively attracted investments totaling ₹1,26,635 crore and provided employment to 6,03,474 people.New Unit ApprovalsDuring the 2025-26 period, the authorities approved 18 new SEZ unit proposals across the States of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. These new units are expected to bring in an investment of ₹6,245.29 crore and generate 6,876 jobs.
