Audi has decided it’s time to freshen up its mid-size SUV.

The German luxury marque just unveiled the third-generation Q7, which is set to launch as part of its 2027 year model class. The updated SUV features a bold redesign and new tech inside and out, along with significantly more power than before.

The new Q7, like the Q5 before it, sees Audi continue to move its design language in a more muscular direction. This welcome change means the update features sharper lines and a more defined shape than its predecessor, which debuted all the way back in 2016 (and was refreshed in 2020). This is especially true of its performance variant, the SQ7 (pictured above), which might be the most aggressive-looking version of the SUV yet. Both the Q7 and SQ7 come with Audi’s Digital Matrix LED light for the first time in the U.S. The adaptive system’s taillights even project turn signals onto the ground, a feature that should help nearby pedestrians and cyclists alike.
