Amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington, a high-level Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran on Wednesday, June 10, to hold talks with Islamic Republic officials on “bilateral relations, regional developments, and the progress of diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between Iran and the United States.”
Iran’s state newspaper reported that the delegation arrived in Tehran at midday on Wednesday and is expected to discuss not only bilateral relations and regional issues but also the latest developments in the diplomatic process aimed at ending the war between Iran and the United States.
Agence France-Presse, citing an informed diplomat, reported that the Qatari negotiating team traveled to Tehran following consultations with American officials to meet Iranian counterparts and help narrow the remaining differences between the two sides. According to the source, the purpose of the visit is to help bridge the gaps in the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
