MDMK Principal Secretary and Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko stated that regardless of any accusations made by the DMK, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government would last for five years.Speaking to press here on Wednesday, he said, “MDMK has been a part of the INDIA alliance from the beginning. It was due to grievances against the Congress that the DMK had exited.”“We continue to be in the DMK alliance. Decisions regarding the continuation of the alliance and contesting under a specific party symbol will be decided at the General Council meeting on June 27,” he stated.He clarified that he did not say that being in the DMK alliance was a misfortune, rather he said, “I stated that it was a misfortune to contest and win under one party’s symbol, resign from it, and then contest under another symbol.”Regarding the power cut issue, the government must identify the correct reason and resolve it immediately, he stated.“The power distribution infrastructure has not been updated for many years; there is a shortage of adequate personnel,” he remarked.In some places, Mr. Durai Vaiko alleged that certain individuals were creating artificial power cuts, adding, “The minister has said that he is taking action to prevent this.”Adding, he said the drug circulation that existed during the previous regime in Tamil Nadu continues during this regime as well.Drug culture is the reason for many crimes.
