The Palestinian group Hamas has warned of Israeli demolition operations across the occupied West Bank, following new demolition notices affecting dozens of residential and commercial structures in the Hebron area, in the southern occupied West Bank.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hamas said the demolitions form part of a broader effort to undermine the Palestinian presence in the occupied territory.
“The widespread and escalating demolitions in the West Bank, which aim to displace our people from their land, will not succeed thanks to the steadfastness and resilience of our people,” the movement said.
Hamas argued that the demolition campaign is intended to force Palestinians from their homes and communities but said such measures would not weaken Palestinian attachment to the land.
The group described the demolitions and recent notices issued in Hebron as violations of international law and part of a broader policy targeting Palestinians in the occupied territories.
