WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump in a social media post on Wednesday (Jun 10) said Iran has taken too long to negotiate a deal and would now "have to pay the price," without giving any other details."Iran’s military is a complete and total mess," he said on Truth Social on Wednesday."Much of it, like their Navy and Air Force, doesn’t even exist anymore - They have been completely defeated," he added. The US president added that Iran is "all talk and no action"."They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!" he said. The US military on Tuesday said it launched strikes against Iran after Trump said Tehran had shot down a US Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz. It said on X it had targeted Iranian air defence, ground control stations and surveillance radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command described the operation as a “proportional response” to recent attacks on US forces and commercial shipping. "I believe the response should be very strong, very powerful, and that's what this one is," Trump told ABC News then.In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Wednesday they had carried out missile and drone attacks on US military bases in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for American strikes on Iranian targets around the Strait of Hormuz.
