Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for a group of seven-armed suspects who carried out a violent house robbery and kidnapping at Rwanda Village in Letsitele, Mopani District.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, when a 35-year-old woman was awakened in her bedroom by an unknown male suspect who allegedly pointed a firearm at her and forced her into another room, where she found her mother and brother already being held at gunpoint.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that cases of house robbery and kidnapping have been opened and that a full-scale manhunt is underway.
“Letsitele police have launched a manhunt for suspects responsible in a house robbery and kidnapping incident at Rwanda Village,” said Ledwaba.
He said the suspects robbed the family before coercing them into transferring money electronically.
