The 2026 FIFA World Cup finally kicks off tomorrow, and I'm so ready for it. Here at Tom's Guide we've drawn our teams in the office sweepstake, created a comprehensive guide to the World Cup, and while my beer is chilling ahead of the Mexico v South Africa kickoff, I'm serving up a freshly cooked batch of soccer-mad quizzes to whet your appetite.I've made three quizzes this week, because I'm more than a little excited ("Waka Waka" by Shakira has been my loyal earworm for the past week): a mini quiz of five questions about the tournament and its star players, a challenge to name all eight former FIFA Men's World Cup winners, and a tougher challenge to name as many of the nations competing in this year's contest.Which countries have won the trophy?Despite the soccer World Cup running every four years since 1930, only eight nations have actually gotten to lift the trophy. Can you remember/guess all eight? There's no need to add the years; just type in the name of the country, and correct answers will be added to the list automatically. They don't have to be in chronological order either – though Brownie points to you if they are!Mini World Cup quizWhich teams are competing this year?Don't forget to register on our quizzes, games and polls platform, Kwizly, to save your score, reveal hints, and secure your spot on the competitive Tom's Guide leaderboard, and see the results of all our polls in real-time.How did you do this time? Whether you learned something new or just enjoyed showcasing your skills, there are no red cards from us here. Do let us know in the comments how you did and which team you're hoping will win.I grew up watching World Cup matches with my dad while my brother and mom looked on a bit bemused by all our whooping, and I can't wait to share the experience with my own kids this year. Whoever you're supporting in this year's tournament, I wish you a happy and united World Cup season! If you enjoyed this quiz, then please bookmark our Quiz section and visit our Polls page to have your say on all manner of topics, from garden pests to the latest Apple releases (don't worry, if you hold no strong opinions about slugs then you can filter by the topics that interest you).Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.
