Drones operated by the Alpha special operations unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck the Vtorovo and Lobkovo oil pumping stations in Russia’s Vladimir Region.

The SBU announced the operation, according to Ukrinform.

The primary purpose of the targeted facilities is to pump diesel fuel into the Moscow Ring Petroleum Products Pipeline and to transport petroleum products for export to the Baltic Sea ports, including the port of Primorsk.

The targets were located approximately 700 kilometers away.

“Local authorities have confirmed fires at two infrastructure facilities following the SBU drone strikes. According to data from NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service, thermal anomalies indicating fires were recorded in the areas of both oil pumping stations,” the SBU said.
