South African Grammy-winning sensation Tyla is set to make history once again as she takes centre stage at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremonies, representing both South Africa and African music on one of the biggest platforms in global sport.
The "Water" hitmaker is scheduled to perform at the tournament's opening celebrations in Mexico City ahead of the opening match between South Africa and Mexico on Thursday, 11 June.
FIFA has also confirmed that Tyla will perform the South African national anthem before kick-off, placing her at the heart of a proud moment for the country.
