A 5-month-old infant has died of measles-like symptoms at a Sylhet hospital, pushing the division's death toll during the outbreak to 68.
The child, identified only as Munjerine, daughter of Abdul Malik of Jakiganj Upazila, passed away while under treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, said Md Noore Alam Shamim, assistant director of the divisional health office.
Another 55 patients in the division have been hospitalised with suspected measles cases in a 24-hour count
More than 300 patients are receiving treatment across the division's hospitals
The latest fatality pushes the death toll to 45
The district has recorded 11 deaths this year from confirmed or suspected cases
The deceased 8-month-old was admitted on Wednesday and died in the afternoon the same day
The official death toll since the outbreak rises to 613
