It seems former Superman Dean Cain doesn’t appreciate the actor starring in the latest entry in the DC Universe film franchise.Cain, who played the last son of Krypton on TV in the 90s but whose most recent role was cosplaying as an ICE agent, joined a gang of internet trolls on Sunday to gripe about a newly released poster for the upcoming “Supergirl” movie. After boosting a question about how the character could have pierced ears if her skin is bulletproof, Cain dove into the replies and co-signed a post mocking “Supergirl” star Milly Alcock’s appearance. One of the replies he responded to was an image of a furry proto-human from the 1970s series “Land of the Lost,” shared by an X user who asked why Alcock resembled the ape-like character.Cain wrote: “Dang it... I laughed” along with a nervous emoji.People didn’t seem to be laughing with Cain; over 400 X users piled on the actor in the comments, calling him “shallow and cruel,” and likening him to a “Temu Superman.”Dean Cain, seen here on the '90s TV series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," is an armchair MAGA pundit.ABC Photo Archives via Getty Images“What a nasty fucking bully you’ve turned out to be,” one person wrote. “A damn near 60 year old loser dunking on a girl old enough to be your own kid.”Cain is 59 while Alcock is 26.It’s little surprise “Supergirl” has faced conservative backlash. The female-led comic book movie features an actor who’s been outspoken about sexism in Hollywood. Alcock also sparked a minor controversy while taunting her critics in a Variety interview last month, when she said it was “hilarious” that most of the online hate she receives comes from “burner accounts” or pages with bios like, “Dad of four, Christian.”“If you’re pissing the right kind of people off, you’re doing OK,” she said.
