A survivor of a deadly bandit attack on Maikadauri village in Masuga District of Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State has revealed that his heavily pregnant sister-in-law, who was abducted during the raid, is reportedly in labour while still being held captive by the gunmen.

The attack, which occurred in the night, reportedly left one resident dead, several others injured, and at least five women abducted, including the pregnant woman who was reportedly due to give birth at any moment.

Speaking in Hausa during an interview with journalist Zakari Adamu Kontagora, the survivor recounted the horrifying ordeal, describing how bandits invaded the community under the cover of heavy rainfall, shot residents, beat people mercilessly, looted homes, and kidnapped women.

According to him, the abductors have already contacted relatives of the victims and are demanding ransom payments, while the pregnant woman is reportedly experiencing labour pains in captivity.

"They called and said money should be sent to them," the survivor said.
