The Kwara State Police Command has announced the arrest of 10 suspected kidnappers and banditry suspects, alongside the recovery of multiple firearms, ammunition and other incriminating items during separate intelligence-led operations across the state.

The operations, which were carried out in Ilorin, Edu, Ifelodun and Baruten Local Government Areas, led to the dismantling of a suspected kidnapping network allegedly responsible for a series of abductions and violent crimes in different parts of Kwara State.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the first breakthrough followed an intelligence-led operation launched by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad on May 28, 2026, in response to the abduction of a resident within the Agbeyangi axis of Ilorin.

The police spokesperson disclosed that operatives acted on credible intelligence and initiated a coordinated operation aimed at rescuing victims and dismantling the criminal network behind several kidnapping incidents across the state.
