Dealing realistically and effectively with today’s complex problems, both on the domestic and international fronts, will be more difficult under the political circumstances being created in Greece.

As new parties keep being established and the country’s political scene becomes even more fragmented, taking bold action will not be easy.

Whoever is in power will be weaker and more constrained with respect to his ability to make the necessary decisions.

More understanding, cooperation, and consensus building across party lines will be increasingly needed.

That will be true regardless of what kind of government we end up with after the next national elections that have to take place in the next 11 months; be it a single party or a coalition, with the latter, according to the polls, the most likely scenario.
