Gaming influencer Alex Cimo has died at age 32 after speaking out about 'refusing to accept his fate.'Cimo, who was known for his commentary on Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards, first announced his stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis in March 2025 to his 380,000 YouTube followers.Last month, on May 1, the content creator celebrated his birthday with a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) after previously being told he only had 'days' to live.'I refused to accept my fate, so I fought, and fought, and f***ing fought harder than anything I've had to fight for in my entire life,' he wrote, adding he had been told this by the 'best cancer doctors in the United States.''Now, six weeks after I was marked for death, against insurmountable odds, I can proudly say that I have proved them wrong. Recovery is a painfully slow process, but I grow stronger each day.' He concluded the post by thanking his fans for their support, adding: 'Take care of yourselves.'But Cimo's passing was announced this week in a now-deleted LinkedIn post before his wife Bryttni confirmed the sad update.In a post shared on June 5, she said that the social media star died 'very suddenly' days earlier, writing she was still 'very raw from my bereavement' and had initially wanted to wait to share the news of his death with the public. I know that he touched the lives of many of you.'Prior to his diagnosis, the content creator openly shared his struggles with ulcerative colitis and helped to raise money to combat the illness.According to the Cancer Research Institute, cases of colorectal cancer are rising in younger adults. One in five diagnoses occurs in someone under the age of 55 and it is now the leading cause of cancer-related death in young people. Cimo's fans have since flooded social media with an outpouring of grief for the popular influencer.
