Guwahati: Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM)strongly condemned the killing of Haogin Lhouvum,a resident of Lasan Village, Tamenglong District, who was shot dead at around 1 PM on 9 June 2026.KIM stated the cold-blooded murder of an innocent civilian is a stark reflection of the grave failure of the state's security apparatus, the selective deployment of security forces, and the persistent administrative bias against the Kuki-Zo people. The incident raises serious questions regarding the continued neglect of vulnerable Kuki-Zo villages in Tamenglong District and the authorities' failure to ensure their safety and security.Also read | India's biggest trade bet comes with 6 red flagsKIM said that the Government of Manipur, the District Administration, and the concerned security agencies must explain why vulnerable Kuki-Zo villages continue to be left exposed to such attacks. Such unprovoked attacks resulting in the loss of innocent lives and property must end. The restraint and cooperation extended by the Kuki-Zo people in good faith must not be mistaken for weakness or allowed to be exploited.
