The Niger Delta Development Commission has assured that the pace of work on the 3.75-kilometre Okrika-Borikiri Road, with three bridges linking Okrika and the Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State, will accelerate.
The commission increased the pace of work after paying compensation to property owners in Borikiri.
Speaking during an inspection of the bridge in Okrika, the NDDC Assistant Director, Utilities, Infrastructural Development and Waterways, Martins Isichei, stated that the issue of compensation for property owners at the Borikiri end of the bridge had been settled.
This was contained in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday by the NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama, and sent to newsmen.
