Multiple sources among affected pensioners accused the Managing Director of NAMA, Farouk, of ignoring repeated directives and clarifications issued by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) regarding the payment and review of pension entitlements.
The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Umar Farouk, has reportedly failed to pay NAMA pensioners their outstanding benefits despite several circulars from the National Pension Commission (PenCom) directing the agency to pay all benefits owed to retirees.
The dispute centres on the long-running disagreement between pensioners of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the agency's management over the implementation of pension benefits and reviews owed to retirees who transitioned from the old Defined Benefits Scheme (DBS) to the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
Multiple sources among affected pensioners accused the Managing Director of NAMA, Farouk, of ignoring repeated directives and clarifications issued by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) regarding the payment and review of pension entitlements.
According to the pensioners, despite several circulars and official correspondences from PenCom affirming the agency's responsibility to implement periodic pension reviews and increases, the NAMA management has refused to comply.
