ABUJA — African countries are losing billions of dollars annually to corruption while recovering only a small fraction of stolen assets, Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Isaac Keen Parashina, has said, calling for stronger continental cooperation in tracking and recovering illicit funds.

He made the remark on Tuesday in Abuja during the maiden International Diplomatic Dialogue organised by the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), themed “Experience Sharing in Anti-Corruption Strategy: The Kenyan Perspective.”

The event brought together Nigerian and Kenyan anti-corruption officials, diplomats and policy experts, who called for stronger institutions, improved capacity and enhanced intelligence sharing to combat corruption across Africa.
