Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has on Tuesday directed the officials to prepare monthly economic growth data across sector to understand the growth of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).In a review meeting on GSDP growth trends held in Amaravati today, the Chief Minister has also decided to set up a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Taskforce to analyse the GSDP trends on the real time and formulate measures to augment the economic growth in the State.The Chief Minister stressed the need to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which were below the national average and align them with the performance standards of leading states. He instructed officials to adopt a scoring mechanism that evaluates performance based not only on target achievement but also on real growth outcomes.Highlighting the economic impact of infrastructure investments.Every rupee spent on infrastructure had the potential to generate up to 3.5 times economic activity, Naidu said. There was a need for focused efforts to enhance Gross Value Addition (GVA) across all sectors, the Chief Minister said and stressed the importance of leveraging manufacturing, mining, trade, transportation, and major infrastructure projects such as Amaravati, Polavaram, ports, and airports to create a strong multiplier effect on the state’s economy.To strengthen administrative capabilities, he directed officials to organise a State-level workshop on July 2-3, 2026 for capacity building of government officers and employees, according to a release.Published on June 9, 2026
