Pizza fans are rushing to Tesco to get their hands on a tasty treat which has divided some opinions, although one reviewer said it's absolutely amazing with cheese16:36, 09 Jun 2026Pizza fans have been told to stop what they're doing and "run to Tesco" because a seriously tasty treat has hit shelves and people can't control their excitement.‌There's nothing quite like indulging in a yummy, cheesy pizza with your favourite toppings. Whether you're a pepperoni person, prefer pineapple, or like to munch on mushrooms, the possibilities are endless, and the flavour sensations are delicious. But how much do you really love pizza? Do you love it so much that you'd forgo a normal crumpet in the morning in favour of a pizza-flavoured one? Well, if you would, you're in luck, as that's exactly what's been spotted in Tesco.‌New Foods UK shared a TikTok which shows the Warbutons Pizza Crumpets, and people said they would "definitely eat them".‌On the Warbutons website, it shared a recipe for a crumpet pizza, but now took it one step further and made the crumpet taste just like a pizza. It shared you can put tomato puree, toppings and cheese on a crumpet, and it makes a tasty alternative to pizza."Your toppings of choice - peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, sweetcorn, olives and basil all work well," Warbutons explained.‌Content cannot be displayed without consentNot everyone was enamoured with the idea of pizza-flavoured crumpets, as one wrote: "Pizza-flavour crumpets? I dunno how I feel about that combo. Love them both as singles."The original recipe on the Warbutons website advised to toast four crumpets for 3-4 minutes until lightly toasted, then spread on tomato puree. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on, then add toppings of choice before putting them in the oven at 220 degrees until the cheese is melted and golden.‌This recipe would taste even nicer with the addition of an actual pizza-flavoured crumpet.Bald Foodie Guy posted a review on YouTube of the crumpets, and said when he saw them, he knew he "had to try them". He claimed that six crumpets would set you back just £1.50.He explained he could pick up the pizza flavour when trying them, but said it was "very mild," which is probably what you'd want, rather than the taste being overwhelming.‌Also Bald Foodie Guy suggested that perhaps this flavour was a "gimmick," but this was when he tried one with butter. When he tried a pizza crumpet with cheese, he said it was "better".He claimed it tasted like "very, very mild pepperoni" rather than anything else, and it's "better with all the cheese all over it". However, he gave quite a harsh rating of 5/10, and said: "But you might like them."In the comments, someone said they wanted to "give them a go". Another added: "I often have cheese on crumpets with a bit of marmite, they have to be well toasted first. Then butter on and cheese with a dollop of Marmite, then put under the grill to bubble. Never had those flavoured ones though."Article continues belowWould you try these pizza-flavoured crumpets? Let us know in the comments...
