Actor and former Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) joint secretary Ansiba Hassan said on Tuesday (June 9) that she would continue her legal fight against the body’s executive committee member and actor Tini Tom for making alleged communal remarks and derogatory comments against her.“I hope that the government will stand with me in my battle for justice,” she told media persons after submitting her statement at the Kadavanthra police station here in connection with her complaint against Mr. Tom. She said she would approach the court if the police failed to register a case against Mr. Tom. She feared that she might not receive justice, as her fellow actor was often seen rubbing shoulders with various politicians.Though she had lodged the complaint with the Infopark police initially, it was later forwarded to the Kadavanthra police station. She said she was hurt after coming across baseless allegations against her and her family members. On whether she would appear before a panel announced by the AMMA leadership on her complaint, she wondered how she could appear before a committee that included association president Shwetha Menon, against whom she had raised an allegation of not giving due seriousness to her complaint initially. She reiterated that Mr. Tom had made communal remarks against her, besides separately making derogatory comments in the WhatsApp group of the association’s executive committee. Mr. Tom had denied the allegations while stating that there was a conspiracy being hatched to defame him. Ms. Menon had earlier said that the executive committee had set up a panel to hear complaints raised by various executive committee members, including Ms. Hassan.
