The Pentagon expanded its 1260H list to include Alibaba, Baidu, BYD and NIO, intensifying strains in US-China relations.
Beijing condemned the move as discriminatory and urged Washington to correct what it calls mistaken practices targeting Chinese companies.
BYD, Alibaba and Baidu threatened legal action, rejecting any association with military-civil fusion and warning of harm to their US development.
The list, unchanged from February, also names CXMT, YMTC, WuXi AppTec, RoboSense and Unitree, restricting Pentagon contracts but not imposing sanctions.
