A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has revealed that 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, once rejected his suggestion to work with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, insisting that he was more popular than the ADC presidential candidate.
Recall that Obi served as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate on the Peoples Democratic Party ticket in the 2019 presidential election.
In 2023, he defected to the Labour Party and contested the presidency, finishing third behind Atiku and President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress .
In 2025, Obi joined Atiku and other opposition figures, including Rabiu Kwankwaso and Rotimi Amaechi, in the ADC.
