Two persons, including a history-sheeter, were arrested for hurling molotov cocktails at a TASMAC outlet in Salem on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).In the early hours of Sunday (June 7, 2026), two unidentified persons, who came on a two-wheeler, hurled two molotov cocktails at a Tasmac outlet at Gorimedu, and one fell near the outlet, and fire spread over the empty paper boxes kept in front of and inside the shop. The firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. The CCTV footage of this incident went viral on social media.Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Kannankurichi police identified the duo as M. Yasin (30) of Kamatchi Nagar in Chinna Tirupathi, who is a history-sheeter, and his accomplice M. Naveen (28) of NGGO Colony in Chinna Tirupathi. The police arrested them and were remanded in prison.Police sources said that, on Saturday (June 6, 2026), after closing the Tasmac outlet, the duo went to the shop at 10.10 p.m. and demanded to be provided with more liquor, which the shop salesman denied.
