The U.K. and Ireland box office experienced a highly competitive frame as Paramount’s franchise revival “Scary Movie” secured the top spot, debuting to a robust £4.1 million ($5.6 million).

Debuting in second place, Piece Of Magic Entertainment’s “The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act” captured $3.6 million. At No. 3, fantasy epic “Masters Of The Universe,” distributed by Sony, opened with $3.5 million.

A24’s psychological horror “Backrooms” moved to fourth in its sophomore session, adding $3 million to its haul and has now amassed a cumulative total of $11.6 million.

Universal’s horror-romance “Obsession” was at No. 5, banking $2.5 million in its fourth weekend of release for a running total of $13.8 million.

Disney’s “The Mandalorian And Grogu” was in sixth place during its third weekend, pulling in $1.8 million to lift its cume to $18.8 million. Universal’s long-running biographical musical drama “Michael” took seventh place in its seventh week of release, generating $1.8 million and a cumulative $67.7 million.
