The Drone Deal and the anti-ballistic missile program were the key topics of the meeting in Tallinn between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, as part of the Ukraine – Nordic-Baltic Summit.
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian president announced this on Telegram.
“In Tallinn today. Ahead of the Ukraine – Nordic-Baltic Summit, I met with the Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpo. We discussed the work in Europe to develop anti-ballistic defense capabilities, as well as the preparation of an agreement in the Drone Deal format. The teams are working, and the main thing is that there be more protection in Europe,” he wrote.
He noted that special attention was paid at the meeting to Ukraine’s need to strengthen its air defense, the region's security challenges, and diplomatic efforts to achieve a just peace.
“I informed the Prime Minister about our contacts with Europeans and Americans. I am grateful to the Government, the people, and all of Finland for supporting Ukraine – above all, for all the military packages and contributions to the PURL initiative. Importantly, Finland is ready to continue helping,” he emphasized.
