Ahmed is alleged to have arranged to scrap his car to help others avoid arrest or prosecution in connection with the incident. The arson, which occurred on 23 March, involved four Hatzola ambulances being set on fire, causing gas canisters to explode and damaging nearby flats and a synagogue. Four other people – Hamza Iqbal, Rehan Khan, Judex Atshatshi, and a 17-year-old boy – have already been charged with arson and are due back in court in January.
