By Dhesegaan Bala Krishnan Tuesday, 09 Jun 2026 1:52 PM MYT KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 — Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin today said the party had no hand in the Islamist party Pas’ decision to end cooperation with Bersatu. PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang announced the decision to terminate political cooperation with Bersatu last night following weeks of internal tussle in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. Abdul Hadi said the party is now open to form a political understanding or electoral pact that unites the ummah to face the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16). “As long as they don’t blame Umno,” Mohamed Khaled said in jest, when asked to comment on the political development.“They usually like accusing that this is Umno’s work. Umno is a good party lah,” he added. Despite terminating political cooperation with Bersatu, PAS is reportedly remaining in the PN camp.
