The enclosure is home to several macaques, including Punch, a baby monkey who recently became a global internet sensation.
The pair, aged 24 and 27, were arrested last month following the incident at the Ichikawa City Zoo. On Friday, prosecutors filed a summary indictment with the Chiba Summary Court, according to The Mainichi.
The court imposed the fines on both individuals under the charge of "forcible obstruction of business," citing that their actions disrupted the zoo's operations during the May 17 incident. Both men paid their penalties on the same day.

According to authorities and reports by AFP, one of the men, who identified himself as a 24-year-old college student, climbed over a fence and dropped into a dry moat surrounding the monkey exhibit.
