Pitso Mosimane remains the most successful coach in South African football, which is why Kaizer Chiefs' supporters, in particular, remain hopeful that he will lead the team next season – a move that could significantly shape the local game.
Chiefs are currently without a coach after parting ways with co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef. This departure came despite the duo achieving the team's best league finish – third – since they were runners-up in the 2019/2020 season.
Since their departure, Chiefs have been heavily linked with Fernando da Cruz, who was part of Nasreddine Nabi’s backroom staff. Da Cruz, however, left his post without assisting in a single match when Nabi initially took the reins.
While Da Cruz has coached in North Africa and cut his coaching teeth in France, he would not bring the wealth of success and experience that Mosimane offers. Mosimane knows South African football like the back of his hand, and has three CAF Champions League titles to his name.
