Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Andrii Melnyk, has called for the preparation and submission of a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Melnyk said this while speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
Melnyk said such a step could serve as an important confidence-building measure and help create the conditions necessary for genuine negotiations aimed at achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace.
The diplomat also renewed his appeal to Ukraine’s international partners to significantly increase support for the country, particularly in the field of air defense.
According to Melnyk, assistance should be expanded “at least tenfold, better twentyfold.”
