Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said Tehran and Washington are continuing to exchange views through talks mediated by Pakistan and expressed hope that negotiations could reach a conclusion in the near future.
Speaking to reporters after a UN Security Council meeting in New York, Iravani said Iran had not yet received a final document but was working toward that goal.
Asked whether an agreement could be reached by the end of the month, he replied: “We hope so.”
The ambassador also reiterated Iran’s position that the ceasefire applies across the region, including Lebanon, a view rejected by Israel.
