Cuba experienced a shake on the afternoon of Monday, June 8, as a preliminary 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit off the Western coast of the island.According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake was reported at around 1 p.m. ET. The 6.1-magnitude earthquake was reported at a depth of 6.2 miles with an epicenter about 65 miles northwest of Mantua, Cuba.Spectrum News said that vibrations from Monday’s earthquake were felt by local reporters at a facility in St. Petersburg, Florida. According to the USGS, people from across Florida have reported vibrations, with reports being received from Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Sarasota and areas.As of 2:50 p.m. ET, the National Weather Service’s Tsunami Warning System has not reported any warnings following the earthquake.Fernando Cervantes Jr. is a trending news reporter for USA TODAY.
