The Iranian government says its missile strikes are over, so long as Israel doesn’t bomb Lebanon. Israel in turn says it will not attack Iran, but insists it will respond if Hezbollah in Lebanon once again fires rockets at northern Israel.

So the war that exploded back into life Sunday night is still only a hair-trigger away, with a thin line of deterrence and bluster holding the warring parties back, as President Donald Trump tries to strike a deal to reopen the strait of Hormuz.

And fighting goes on in southern Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.
