The eight-team field for the 2026 College World Series is complete. Five teams from the SEC, a record for one conference, are heading to Omaha.Texas, which swept Oregon in the Austin Super Regional, is in the CWS for a record 39th time and the first under second-year coach Jim Schlossnagle. The Longhorns, however, have not won a national championship since 2005.Georgia, the top remaining seed (No. 3 overall), returns to Omaha for the first time since 2008. The Bulldogs, who lead the nation with 174 home runs, won the SEC regular-season and tournament titles and swept through the Regional and Super Regional with five consecutive wins.Alabama, the No. 7 overall seed, Ole Miss and Oklahoma are the three other SEC teams in the field. Alabama is in the CWS for the first time since 1999. The last appearance for both Ole Miss and Oklahoma was in 2022, when they played each other for the national title (won by the Rebels).Troy, from the Sun Belt, is the only team from outside the Power 4 to crash the CWS. The Trojans, who were 32-29 on Selection Monday yet still received an at-large bid, were the No. 3 seed in the Gainesville Regional. They lost the opener to Miami but then won four straight, including the final two over host Florida, to advance to the Super Regional.
