Singer Suresh Wadkar finally broke silence on the rumours that he rejected Madhuri Dixit’s marriage proposal because he found her too thin. During a chat with Lallantop, the singer refuted the rumours and said that they were very good friends. “Oh god, that Madhuri rumour! One day Madhuri will pull out even the few natural hairs I have left. She is a very good friend and colleague from the industry. I like her a lot.”He also blamed Kapil Sharma Show judge Archana Puran Singh for the rumour. He claimed that she made a claim that he once turned down the Dhak Dhak girl on television and the rumours had persisted ever since. “This mischief is Archana Puran Singh’s doing. She is like a sister to me and loves me dearly. I don’t know where she heard it from, but she mentioned it on television. Since then, I get asked this question in every interview,” he said. Addressing the rumours, he stated that Madhuri was indeed very thin when she made her cinematic debut in the movie Abodh. However, he also clarified that he never received any marriage proposals from her end and at that time he was already in a relationship with his now-wife Padma. “The proposal never even reached me, so how could I reject her? By then, Padma had already entered my life. She was my student..” he stated. Madhuri is married to Dr Shriram Nene and they have two sons Arin and Ryan.
