Egypt has enhanced its objective to become a major textile and apparel manufacturing hub with the opening of a new garment production plant in New Borg El Arab City, Alexandria.

As earlier reported, the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mostafa Madbouly, saw to the launch and inspection of several industrial projects in the New Borg El-Arab City, Alexandria, including the first phase of the El-Gharably Industrial Complex, and the Jade Textile facility, among others.

The facility, managed by Jade Textile and owned by Turkey's Yesim Group, was officially inaugurated during the visit by the Egyptian prime minister.

According to officials from the company, investments in the Alexandria facility are approaching EGP 500 million.

More interestingly, the plant is intended to play an important role in increasing Egypt's export revenues, with projected annual exports ranging from $250 million to $500 million once operations reach full capacity.
