Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi has said that Ayurveda not only treats diseases but also guides people towards a long and healthy life by ensuring perfect physical, mental and spiritual balance.Inaugurating the BVG Wellness Centre – Cancer Treatment Centre at Swayam Sanjeevini Ashram in Vasan village of Nargund taluk of Gadag district on Sunday, Mr. Joshi said that the country has made significant contributions in the field of traditional medicine.Ayurveda, which has been passed down through generations, has gained increasing importance in the recent years due to its vast repository of herbal medicine and holistic healing practices, he said.Founder of BVG Life Sciences Hanmanthrao Gaikwad said that the organization has made substantial contributions to traditional medicine through extensive research.Sri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swami of Gavisiddeshwara Math, Koppal, and Sri Sahasrara Yogeeshwaram Swami highlighted the significance of Ayurveda.Traditional medicine practitioner Hanumanth Mallali said that Ayurveda has expanded globally through herbal medicine, Panchakarma therapies, yoga and nutraceutical products.The former Ministers C.C. Patil and B.R. Yavagal, High Court judge Hanchate Sanjeevkumar, Director of BVG Life Sciences Jayashree Dravid, South India Coordinator of BVG Life Sciences Limited Sanjay Dongare and others were present.BVG Wellness Centre at Swayam Sanjeevini Ashram at Vasan village in Nargund taluk is the first wellness centre of its kind set up in Karnataka by BVG India Limited which has tied up with practitioner of traditional medicine Hanumanth Malali.
