Carlyle-backed Viyash Scientific has bought Italy’s BioForLife for Rs. 188 crore, according to an official release.BioforLife, based in Milan, Italy, specializes in the development, commercialization and distribution of pet care products.The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of financial year 2026-27.Viyash Scientific said BioForLife reaches over 80% of all veterinary clinics in Italy, thereby providing well-established customer relationships for future growth."This acquisition represents another important step in our strategy to build a leading global Companion Animal Health business. BioForLife provides us with an established platform in Italy, one of Europe's most attractive pet care markets, while strengthening our presence across the region,” said Haribabu Bodepudi, Viyash Scientific’s managing director and group chief executive officer.The acquisition is being made through Alvira Animal Health, a wholly owned subsidiary of Viyash Scientific.Viyash Scientific is looking to ‘capitalize on the mega-trend’ of a growing companion animal health generics market through this acquisition, the company said in its release.
