Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has said that in May the ratio of liberated to lost territory was almost 100 sq km in Ukraine's favour. Overall, Ukrainian forces have recaptured more than 600 sq km of territory since the beginning of the year.

Quote: "Despite constant enemy pressure, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold the line, eliminate the occupying forces and carry out effective strikes against the enemy deep within its operational and strategic rear. These are the key results of our military's activities in May, which we reviewed during our monthly summary meeting."
Details: According to Syrskyi, the situation on the battlefield remains difficult and highly dynamic. Russian forces continue attempts to advance in Ukraine's east and south, while the number of combat engagements has increased significantly. The fiercest fighting is taking place on the Pokrovsk, Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole fronts.
