The US Embassy in Israel announced on Sunday evening that its consular sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv will be closed on Monday, urging its staff and their families to be prepared to take shelter following the recent Iranian attacks.
In a statement, the embassy said: “As a result of the current security situation in Israel, including Home Front Command alerts for multiple regions, the U.S. Embassy has directed all U.S. government employees and their family members to shelter in place, and be prepared to move to a protected shelter in the event of a red alert, until further notice.”
It added that US consular services would remain closed on Monday, 8th June.

The embassy also advised US citizens to follow instructions from local authorities and Israel’s Home Front Command, and to seek shelter immediately in the event of sirens, missile attacks or hostile aerial incursions.
