Tony Brown will conclude his tenure with the Springboks at the end of next year's Rugby World Cup in Australia before taking up a coaching position with New Zealand Rugby.
Tony Brown insists his sole focus remains on helping the Springboks achieve their ambitions over the next two seasons, despite confirmation that he will return home to New Zealand Rugby in 2028.
SA Rugby announced on Sunday that the former All Black flyhalf will conclude his tenure with the Springboks at the end of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia before taking up a coaching position with New Zealand Rugby.
Brown, who joined the Springbok coaching team in 2024, has become a key figure in the evolution of South Africa's attacking game under Rassie Erasmus. While his future beyond 2027 is now settled, the 50-year-old was emphatic that his attention remains fixed on the task at hand.
"Right now, I am fully committed to the Springboks," Brown said. "What we are building and trying to achieve as a team over the next two years is my only focus."
