Delhi is likely to see mainly clear skies on Monday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to reach around 42 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. The first half of the period will remain hot, with temperatures crossing 42°C, while thunderstorms, gusty winds and light rain are expected to bring relief from June 11 onward.The IMD has also indicated another spell of rain and thunderstorm activity around June 11-12. The hottest days are expected to be June 9 and June 10, when the mercury may approach 44°C in some parts of the capital.Rain Relief Likely After MidweekAccording to IMD's latest outlook, thunderstorm activity is expected to increase around June 11 and June 12. Gusty winds of 40-60 kmph may accompany rain and lightning, providing significant relief from the prevailing heat.June 8-10: Hot and humid conditions, temperatures between 42°C and 44°C.June 11: Thunderstorms and light rain likely.June 12-13: Cooler weather expected, with daytime temperatures dropping to around 35-37°C.Strong winds: Gusts up to 60 kmph possible during thunderstorm activity.After several days of scorching weather, Delhi residents can expect some respite in the second half of the week. Rain-bearing clouds and strong winds are likely to lower temperatures by nearly 6-8°C compared to the peak heat expected earlier in the weekWhen will monsoon reach Delhi?The southwest monsoon, which arrived in Kerala three days later than its normal onset date and it raised hopes that it could reach Delhi around its usual arrival time later this month. According to the IMD's monsoon tracking map, the monsoon is expected to enter Delhi and the National Capital Region sometime between June 25 and June 30.The same timeline is expected for surrounding areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and other parts of northern India. Following its arrival in Delhi, the monsoon is expected to advance further northwest into parts of Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
