(Getty Images: Sean M Haffey)Korda made a 9-foot birdie putt on the 17th to break out of a four-way tie for the lead with Mexican Lopez, the hard-charging Englishwoman Hull and three-time major champion In Gee Chun.Chun (70) finished fourth ‌at 6-under and fellow South Korean Sei Young Kim (72) was fifth at 5-under.‌Chun earlier needed a birdie at the final hole to catch Korda, but missed an 8-foot par putt to finish with her third bogey over the last seven holes. She also had four birdies.Korda calmly two-putted for par on the 18th hole, claiming the $US2.5 million ($3.55 million) winner's share of this Open's record $US12.5 million ($17.7 million) purse.The 27-year-old won The Chevron Championship in April.Korda had three victories and as many second-place finishes in her first seven starts of a spectacular season after going winless in 2025.After a rough opening-round 73 at Riviera, she put together back-to-back 67s to take a share of the lead into the final round.Defending champion Maja Stark of Sweden shot 71 to finish in a six-way tie for eighth at 2-under.Grace Kim and Karis Davidson were the best-placed Australians, both finishing tied for 22nd position on 2-over.Reuters
