Super Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu will undergo a scan in Lisbon, Portugal, on Monday (today) to determine the extent of the injury he suffered in training on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Ogbu was ruled out of Nigeria’s upcoming friendly against Portugal after suffering a suspected rupture of his left Achilles tendon during training on Saturday.

With 22 players in training on Sunday evening ahead of the game, the team’s Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, noted that the player was still in camp and would be further assessed on Monday.

“Injured Igoh Ogbu is still in the Super Eagles camp. Disregard reports that he has gone back to Prague. He will undergo a scan here in Lisbon on Monday,” Efoghe said in a team update on their WhatsApp group for journalists.
