Tanta University Hits Milestone in Treating Childhood Tumours

A medical team at Egypt’s Tanta University Hospitals has performed delicate surgery to remove a two-kilogram malignant tumour from a 10-year-old girl at the university’s Children’s Cancer Hospital.

According to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education, the two-hour operation was a complete success and the girl was discharged in stable condition.

The achievement reflects the advanced capabilities of university hospitals with continuous investment in state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, and trained medical staff leading to improved patient healthcare. The success also highlights the importance of early diagnosis of childhood tumours and prompt medical care when symptoms appear, to ensure timely intervention and better treatment outcomes, the statement added.
