Eli Lilly’s (LLY) New Drug Gives Investors a Wake-Up Call as Data Bolsters the Stock’s Growth Story

The company presented Phase 3 trial results on Saturday, showing that a weekly injection of retatrutide reduced the severity of moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea by 60.6% in adults with obesity. The data add another potential use case for Lilly’s next-generation obesity drug, at a time when its older medicine Zepbound is already approved for sleep apnea.

Retatrutide also reduced knee osteoarthritis pain by up to 73.1% in the same trial, according to Lilly. The results were presented at the American Diabetes Association conference in New Orleans.

Meanwhile, LLY shares rose 0.55% on Friday, closing at $1,131.42.
